Questions

Q  Does the dye rub off ?

A  No. The dye chemically bonds to the carpet fibres and is colour fast and permanent.

Q  How long will the dye last ?

A  The dye will last for the natural life of the carpet

Q  Is the dye toxic ?

A  No. The dyes are eco-friendly and are similar to dyes used by carpet manufacturers

Q  Can all types of carpet be dyed ?

A  The most common carpet fibres (nylon and wool) can be dyed but polypropylene, acrylic and polyester can't.

Q  Can you sort out permanent stains ?

A  Yes. We can resolve most stubborn stain problems and can deal with bleach spots and pet stains that change the colour of your carpet.

Q  Will you need to take the carpets up ?

A  No. The dyeing process is undertaken on location

Q  How long does the process take ?

A  It depends on the size of the room and how many rooms are to be dyed. A typical room will take less than two hours.

Q  How soon can I walk on the carpet ?

A  The dye fixes instantly. We use a powerful suction machine to remove the water that carries the dye so you can walk on the carpet as soon as we finish. The carpet will feel damp but the remaining moisture should evaporate within 24 hours.

Q  Will I need to have the carpets cleaned before you dye ?

A  No. All you need to do is vacuum the carpet thoroughly. Our process deep cleans the carpet as the dye is delivered.

Q  Can any colour of carpet be dyed ?

A  Yes but dyes are translucent and therefore carpet dyeing is not like painting over one colour with a new colour. Colour is added to reach your goal. White and beige carpets can be changed to almost any colour. You can change colour families but you can't dye dark colours lighter.

Q  Can you dye rugs ?

A  Yes providing they are wool, nylon or a wool / nylon blend. We can't dye polypropylene, polyester or acrylic rugs. We can also take rugs away to be dyed.

Q  Can I clean the carpets at a later date ?

A  Yes the dye is similar to dyes used by carpet manufactures. You can treat the carpet as you would a new carpet

Q  Can the carpet be dyed again ?

A  Yes it can be re-dyed as many times as you want.
