About Carpet Dyeing
The carpet dye is applied in a two stage process that cleans the carpet and applies the dye. The dye fixes to the carpet fibres immediately and lasts for the life of the carpet. The dye is permanent and chemically bonds to the carpet fibres. It will not rub off or 'walk' off. The dye is permanent, colour fast and eco-friendly.
Dyeing carpets takes place in situ. You can walk on the dyed carpet within ten minutes of completion. The colour change can be subtle. You can take the colour of the carpet up by a just shade or two or you can change the colour of the carpet. Carpet dyes are translucent and therefore, carpet dyeing is not like painting over one colour with a new one. The base colour of the carpet interacts with the dye to create the new colour.
The process also can colour-match carpets that have problems such as fading and 'fixed' stains or spots where the colour has been removed from the carpet.
